Ault Lighthouse

A lighthouse facing the sea

Perched on the cliff, Ault lighthouse watches over the village and the Channel. From its surroundings, the view takes in the sea and the line of chalk cliffs. The interior opens occasionally, on guided tours.

In the footsteps of Victor Hugo

Victor Hugo loved to walk these heights and never tired of their changing light. An illustrated walking trail, “Sur les pas de Victor Hugo”, invites you to rediscover the atmosphere that inspired the writer, a thread the Hôtel Aultia carries through to its rooms.

Good to know

  • The viewpoint is freely accessible all year round.
  • Opening hours for the interior vary with the season.
  • Bring a windproof jacket: the site is exposed.
